Air Router is a compact utility designed to display comprehensive information regarding the current network routes of an iOS device. Network routing serves as the mechanism enabling a device to determine the optimal path to reach another system within the network.
A route is characterized by a pair of addresses indicating the “destination” and the “gateway.” The route guides packet transmission through the designated gateway when attempting to reach the specified destination. Destinations can be individual hosts, subnets, or the “default” route, which applies when no other routes are appropriate. Gateways similarly fall into three categories: individual hosts, interfaces (links), and Ethernet hardware (MAC addresses). All known routes are maintained within the device’s routing table.
DEFAULT GATEWAYS
- Displays the addresses of default gateways for active network interfaces.
- Provides hostname, network type, MAC address (for Wi-Fi networks), PING capability, and WHOIS record for each default gateway.
- Includes access to a comprehensive offline MAC vendor database.
HOSTS AND SUBNETS

- Includes information on link-local and multicast destinations.
ROUTE ENTRY INFORMATION
- Indicates maximum transfer unit (MTU) values for routes.
- Shows expiry dates for route entries.
- Displays maximum hop counts.
- Provides estimated round-trip times (RTT) for routes.
